Sheryl H How bad do you want to Quit Smoking? 2019

How bad do you want to quit smoking? Somewhat? Like it would be nice if you could. Maybe...maybe not? Maybe next week or next year? Or would you love to really quit for good? Right now. Kick this addiction to the curb and be done with it? But you don’t think its possible for you. And maybe, just maybe...you might want to leave your options open. In case you change your mind.
You always have the option of changing your mind. Not smoking is as much a choice as smoking. Or perhaps you just need a little more time to think about what life would be like, or who you would be without smoking. Or maybe you can just wait until the choice is taken from you. So you won’t have to take any responsibility.
Our friend @Robert B. made a statement in a post today about a thought process I know all too well...”No last hurrah will ever be enough.” And that statement is an absolute truth when it comes to addiction.
A couple of people I know decided to go for a drive the other day. Both are smokers. Meandering down the road, the husband suddenly slumped over the wheel and the car began to head into oncoming traffic. The wife managed to get out of her seatbelt and get the car stopped. Both were taken to the hospital where the husband was pronounced dead. After the wife was told, she had a heart attack and was rushed to another hospital where they put a stent in one of her arteries. She is recuperating only to plan her husband’s funeral. .
The choice was taken from them both. In more ways than one. Yes...we all have to die of something. But I want to leave this Earth by Truth. Not by a lie I have been telling myself. Or one perpetuated by greed and corporate marketing strategies.
Go ahead...have your ‘last hurrah’ if you should so choose. But if you truly want to step up to the plate and learn to live in freedom, all of us are here to help. We cannot make the choice for you. That is your job. Nor do we have any idea when your number will be called. Or when you will be the guy slumped over the wheel, or the woman planning her husband’s funeral from a hospital bed.
Take the plunge. And dive right in to the pool of freedom. DFS
