NOPE is the Only Way To Freedom, MennoD early 2019

NOPE is the only way to freedom, the freedom that lies beyond the initial struggle of breaking free from the chains of addiction. I have not forgotten my early quit. I hardly slept the first week. I was severely quitstipated. Headaches, nausea, depression. Can’t remember sh*t syndrome. I came through that I wanted to be free.

I was in No man’s land for quite a bit longer than the 100 or so days people say it’s supposed to last. But come out on the other side I did. I stuck with NOPE. It worked.
The first time I truly felt free from addiction was at my 1 year anny. Somehow coming through all four seasons gave me the feeling I truly had this addiction down and out. Even though I know I am a nicotine addict and I can never have another puff. If I did I’d be back at square one and two packs a day in no time. 
I don’t feel sorry that I never can have another puff. It makes my quit that much easier to keep. No temptation. I’m absolutely sure that nicotine does nothing good for me, that there is absolutely no benefit to tobacco whatsoever.  
I still get the very occasional crave. It’s always triggered by previous habit, when I come into a situation where |I used to smoke and that I didn’t encounter before since I quit. They are dismissed easily. Freedom is real. It is awesome. NOPE is the way to get there and stay there. Practice NOPE. Out of love for yourself, for yours and for all of us.
