FRIDAY NIGHT BONFIRE---Sept, 11,2020---SELF SERVE
Well, here we are once again...Friday!! I don't like to do this, but I'm just not feeling like hanging around tonight....so, this will be a SELF SERVE!!
Today is National Patriots Day!! Sven and I have the island decorated with over 2500 American flags, and bunting around the buffet tables as well as the Tiki Bar! All the cabana boys and girls are dressed appropriately, plus have the good old red white and blue everywhere! We even have a magnificent bald eagle in a cage at the Tiki Bar!! Patriotic flag embellished umbrellas in all the drinks tonight!
The chaise lounge chairs are all set up waiting for you.....the buffets are loaded up tonight and we have a supply of fresh cut New York Strip Steaks and fresh baked Hawaiian Sweet Bread with garlic glaze...ohhhh, they are yummy!! The jacuzzis await, and the dolphins are ready to play!
Do you remember where you were the morning of Sept. 11,2001...at about 9am?? I was getting ready for a double funeral service of a father and son who were killed in a car crash, after being hit by a drunk driver. To make it worse, both father and son were former US Marines, and were currently both police officers in the same town, but were off duty when killed. The tragedy unfolding in New York made the services even more somber. Where were you??
So, come and have a drink of your choice, a bite to eat....mingle with friends and relax...toss your cumulative unsmokeds into the fire, along with worries and troubles, and let the fire consume them!
And now, with the only lighter allowed here on NOPE Island, the golden lighter used by Tillie Toiler herself, I light the bonfire. The world was forever changed that fateful day in September, 19 years ago.....but my friends, the bonfire remains constant...as constant as the Northern star!
