HOWTO: Change Notification Settings

This will show you how to change your notification settings, both site notifications and email notifications.
Email notifications (coming very soon) are essentially the same notifications you get from the site but via email. The site notifications are the notices you get when something happens on the site and you get a red number on the globe icon:
You may find that you get too many notifications, either via email or on the site, and you want to change those. To do that you simply have to change your preferences, and you can differentiate between what shows on the site versus what is sent via email. To start you hover your mouse over the Profile option in the blue toolbar, when you do so you will get a drop-down menu of choices. Select Preferences:
When you select that you will be able to change your general preferences or you can select the tab that is labeled Emails & Notifications:
Click that and you will see a list of all the various notifications that NOPE has in two columns: Email and On-Site:
You can either individually toggle each notification you do not want to receive (checked means you get the notice, unchecked you do not) or you can click the checkboxes at the top of each section to toggle that entire section on and off as you can see in this picture:
When you uncheck any notice it will take effect immediately. You may still get a few email notices after changing your setting only because those notices may already have been generated before you changed your preferences and have not yet gotten to you.
