So I hit the 10 year mark quit yesterday Aussie time. A-mazing. And in the early days it was thanks to all the a-mazing people here that held my hand through all those tough times - sometimes by minute, by hour and by day - that enabled me to get to be the village elder I proudly am today. I don't get to call in much these days as I am just so busy enjoying my smoke-free and active life but TBH I really do miss the old set-up. It really inspired others when I could cite how many cigarettes I hadn't smoked or how many $$ I had saved using the old counter when I logged in. I mean it is great there is something here for the newbies but.....it still just isn't the same. But anyway - keep hanging in there everyone. I know a lot of people say this but trust me - if I can quit then so can you. I loved those cancer sticks sooooo much. I had a bucket-load of stress in my life, the least of it being left as a single mother with five kids to bring up aged from 2-9 when their father decided to run off with someone else. It took me 4 years and 10 months to quit - but that final quit after 58 months stuck and here I am richer, happier, free, fit, well-travelled, strong and proud. So never, ever give up on giving up. It took time to develop the addiction and it takes time for your brain to re-wire and reject the desire to smoke!
