Addiction is... the only thing that made smoking enjoyable.

You can sit there and say that, yes, you were addicted, but you still enjoyed `some` cigarettes.

But have you considered that addiction was exactly the thing that made them enjoyable? How else do you explain `enjoying` something as unnatural as breathing searing smoke into your lungs?

How else do you explain doing this day in and day out, against your better judgment, and to the exclusion of all else?

This addiction... this nicotine... it is cunning...

It`s good at masquerading as your own free will...

It`s good at making you feel like you loved it and THAT is why you feel so desperately deprived when you quit... because you feel in your bones that you are giving up something you desperately want... rather than relieving yourself of something you desperately don`t want.

When you quit you have to break that cycle... you have to discover that you never loved it, or enjoyed it any more than a junkie enjoys any drug... you were nothing but dependent on it, and that dependency is what caused the pleasure... and the need... and the ache.... and the relief... and the enjoyment.

Can you truly say in the same breath that you enjoyed it... and that you were addicted to it?

Seems to me that addiction, by robbing you of your free will precludes true enjoyment.

Just think about it... you could lace almost anything with nicotine, and very quickly come to `love` it...  even horse manure.   Gummer
