Stop Breaking Rocks

I'm told by many people that they have put this post in their library. It's a great lesson in visualization I think. I called it.....

STOP BREAKING ROCKS

"Three people were at work on a construction site. All were doing the same job, but when each was asked what the job was, the answers varied. "Breaking rocks," the first replied. "Earning my living," the second said. "Helping to build a cathedral," said the third." (Peter Schultz)

It's interesting how our visualization affects our lives isn't it. Which of these men do you think enjoyed more of what he was doing? Which man had the best attitude? And which was the most successful?

See if you think, "This quitting is hard work. I sure miss my cigarettes. Maybe I'll have just one." Do you know what the results will probably be? Quitting will be hard, you'll miss your cigarettes and you'll probably have just one. Negative thinking almost always produces negative results.

Instead, think of your quitting smoking in a positive light. Think, "I'm trying to lead a healthier life. I'm breathing better and feeling better every day. I'm headed in a new direction and nothing can stop me. I need cigarettes like I need a hole in the head." Guess what? You will lead a healthier life. You will be breathing better and feeling better. You will be heading in a new unstoppable direction and you won't need those cigarettes anymore.

So change your attitude from I can't to I can. Think I will not I won't. Why break rocks when you can build a cathedral?

See You At The Top

Dave
