Do you think you have it in you to smoke for the rest of your life? Because that is the only alternative. There is no middle ground. And isn't the thought of smoking for the rest of your life far more scary than the thought of quitting? Think about it. Think about where you want to be in 5 years... still smoking? ... or with a 5 year quit behind you? What you do TODAY will determine where you will be then.
You certainly have it in you to quit. We all do. You just have to keep in mind that the discomfort of quitting is TEMPORARY, and more importantly that it was not caused by quitting, but by all your years of smoking. Smoking did all of this to you, including filling you with this irrational need to smoke more. As you abstain from smoking and nicotine releases its grip on you, you will start to feel stronger and to see things more clearly. Quitting is nothing but good. All the bad stuff you experience is no more than the dying gasps of your addiction. Be glad that you have finally reached your quit again.
Congratulations on making such a good decision.

Good morning all
Happy Friday and a huge TGIF!!!!!!
Up and going for the day today. It is another full assessment day. I subbed in the class with the kids yesterday so it should be an easy transition to the assessment with me today. Saying NO to smoking today and keeping to my path along the Freedom Road. I offer my hand to the next winner joining me kicking ash to the curb.
Have a fantastic Friday!

Good morning trying this again. Wrote my daily NOPE earlier went to post it and it just vanished. So here we go again. It's 25 very chilly degrees here. We have high humidity, 89%. Winds are at 4mph. No rain is expected and our high will be a nice 57° under sunny skies.
Nothing I had on my to-do list got done yesterday. So today's is longer. Baseboards are waiting for a coat of paint. Windows need cleaning and that may happen today...sunshine and near 60°...yeah windows!
Promised the SO a pot...Good morning trying this again. Wrote my daily NOPE earlier went to post it and it just vanished. So here we go again. It's 25 very chilly degrees here. We have high humidity, 89%. Winds are at 4mph. No rain is expected and our high will be a nice 57° under sunny skies.

Promised the SO a pot of white chicken chili. Will probably make some cornbread to go with it. Broke out the slow pot and have it going as I write this.
Ya know so far retirement is fun! Getting stuff done slowly but getting it done. Started gathering up necessary documents for filing taxes, got the software and getting ready to get that done.
I am going to have a great day. Hope yours is too! As always please be nice be kind today.

Disclaimer: This post is just for fun, and not meant to be taken too seriously.
In order to successfully drop smoking like a bad habit once and for all, there are certain habits - rules to follow - that tend seem to be instrumental to success.
1. Don't smoke. Don't smoke if something bad happens, don't smoke if something good happens, don't smoke even if nothing is happening. Don't f@cking smoke.
2. For the first week, NyQuil is your best friend. Stay sauced, stay groggy, stay asleep. If you don't feel comfortable misusing an over the counter drug, consider the fact that you've been inhaling a potent combination of known carcinogens for several years now.
3. You don't have to know why you want to smoke to break under the pressure, but you DO have to know why you don't want to smoke if you're going to survive.
4. Smoking was, is, and will always be your decision. No one else can make you smoke. Once you start blaming others for your habit, you are no longer responsible. Once you eliminate your personal responsibility for your addiction, you have made the first step towards relapse.
5. If you can't drink without smoking, quit drinking. If you can't eat without smoking, don't eat. If you can't drive without smoking, quit driving. If you can't enjoy marital relations without smoking, sleep on the couch. Once you are tired of depriving yourself of everything to avoid smoking, you will learn the truth: You *can* do all of these things without smoking.
6. That said, protect your quit. If hanging outside with the smokers is going to be more temptation than you can handle, go inside. Can't go to Vegas without smoking? Postpone your vacation. In a few short months you'll be ready for real life. Take it easy when you can.
7. If you use a gum, patch, pill, lozenge, or other cessation aid, buy extras and carry spares. For example: If you use the lozenge, keep 2 vials in your pants, keep a vial in your room, a vial in your car, and a vial at your desk at work. That way, when you forget to put your lozenges back in your pocket, or if you run out unexpectedly, or if you wear different pants, you always have a backup.
8. It might not yet seem easier not to smoke if you don't smoke today, but it will be almost infinitely harder not to smoke if you do. We are all one puff away from being full time smokers again. It will never be safe to have 'just one'.
9. Start easy and ramp up the difficulty as you go. Visiting your indoor chain-smoking in-laws might have to wait a few months. Sooner or later, you will have to deal with the world on its own terms. Start slowly, and work your way into harder scenarios. You can't live in a cave forever. Eventually the world is going to force you into a worst case scenario. Be prepared.

Good morning all
Happy Thursday!!!!!!
I am up and moving for the day. I am subbing all day and I have decided to stop for gas a day early as it will be cold tomorrow and I would rather be pumping in decent weather. Not sure what my day will bring but I know smoking will not be part of it. Saying NO to smoking and keeping moving forward along the Freedom Road. Who will join me in kicking some ash to the curb today.

Good morning! It's 4:13am. It's only 25° right now. It's a bit windy however the skies are clear and humidity is a at 87%. As the sun rises we will warm to about 51° and sunshine abound. Yep a nice winter day in middle Tennessee and a great day to say NOPE no smoking here today.
The drive to Nashville was uneventful. Everyone played nice on I-24 and 440. Heading home something must have happened as the traffic was backed up for miles.... eastbound traffic was smooth rolling at 70mph.

Today is just a normal day. House work and the never ending laundry. If I have painters tape( I think I do) I am going to start painting baseboards and door frames. Going to start with the worst areas....
Y'all have a fantastic day and please always be nice be kind.
